A suicide bomber who killed three people in a crowded shopping center in Jerusalem on Saturday killed his wife and three children, a police source told the AP.
The suicide bomber blew himself up at a crowded intersection of the Old City and the West Bank city of Hebron near a synagogue, killing his wife, father-in-law and the children, police said.
The attacker detonated his explosives at the junction of the main road and the busy intersection of Beit Shemesh, a busy shopping center that was packed with people, according to police.
Police did not say what led to the suicide bombing.
The attack comes at a particularly difficult time for the Palestinians.
Israel has been under increased pressure from the West to stop attacks in Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank.
In the past few weeks, Palestinian militants have killed dozens of Israelis and wounded hundreds more in knife attacks, shootings and car rammings, while Israelis have been killed by Palestinians in several high-profile incidents.
In recent weeks, Israel has also cracked down on Palestinian rocket attacks, arresting scores of suspects.
